A unique musical notation system that makes music accessible to all.

Wim Brussen and Lyan Verburg

Children, the partially sighted and the mentally handicapped find it very difficult to read the traditional staff notation. However, this does not mean that they are incapable of playing an instrument. A special colour notation system has been developed exclusively for the JostiBand Orchestra, an orchestra made up entirely of mentally handicapped musicians. This system bears a relation to the classical staff notation but is far simpler. It has proved to be highly effective in practice. The JostiBand Orchestra currently records CDs and gives performances at home and abroad. This unique notation system makes music accessible to all. Read in this book how simple the colour notation system is.
